That's our post-nup trial date, according to the Times' Bill Shaikin. Expect "magic number" jokes.
I'll be on ESPN Radio 710 at 6:00 local to discuss the divorce, and I'll post here as news and events warrant.

Sell the team , Frank. Dodger fans deserve better. If somebody has Dennis Gilbert's number...
ReplyDeleteYou're doing God's work, Josh - keep it up! From day one I hated the McCourts, and more than them I blame Bud Selig, MLB and the other owners for intentionally putting cash poor paupers in the Dodgers ownership seat. It was a way to control a large market - heaven forbid it be a NY team, or Boston for this messed up experiment!
ReplyDeleteFor Bud, a terrible commisioner who somehow gets a lot of credit for "saving the game" even though he turned a blind eye and even encouraged the steroid scandal ("chick dig the long ball!"), it was criminal to allow one of baseball's crown jewels, which is what the Dodgers are, dwindle away like this.
From day one the McCourts seemed to vow a Giants-like payroll - and now here we are in March of 2010 and the Twins have a bigger payroll... while ticket prices have soared, concession prices, parking prices, and payroll has dropped roughly $30 mil since Fox owned the club. Amazing!
After years of waiting for all of Dan Evans/Logan White's/Kim Ng's, etc. prospects to come up and become stars, we get to that point and can't afford Jon Garland or Randy Wolf - let alone CC, Lee, Halladay, etc.
Sick, sick, sick. For the "best interest of the game", force the McCourts to sell the Dodgers. Step up Eli Broad, or some other LA-based fat cat. Dodger fans do not deserve this raping.
Jeff Moorad always wanted to own the Dodgers. 2 NL West teams down, 2 to go?
